Functional Medicine Lab Testing & Interpretation
Understanding your health goes beyond basic lab results. Our Functional Medicine Lab Interpretation service dives deep into your test results to provide a comprehensive view of your metabolic, nutritional, toxic burden, and overall health status. I specialize in interpreting a wide range of lab tests, including blood work, Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA), Organic Acids Test (OAT), and more (see below for additional tests).
Each lab result is thoroughly reviewed to identify patterns, imbalances, and potential areas of concern. This approach not only highlights current health issues but also uncovers underlying conditions that may not yet be symptomatic—true proactive, preventative care. With this information, we craft a personalized health plan tailored to address your unique needs, guiding you toward optimal wellness.
What are some examples of issues I work with commonly?
Autoimmunity
Heavy metal toxicity
Nutritional deficiencies
Mold & Mycotoxin exposure
Lyme Disease & Co-infections
Environmental chemical exposure
Chronic pain, fatigue & inflammation
Connective tissue problems
HPA Axis Dysfunction due to Chronic Stress
Life-stress induced Biochemical imbalance
Thyroid Dysfunction
Adrenal Fatigue
Liver & Gallbladder Dysfunction
Digestive problems like IBS and constipation
Food intolerances
Mood regulation problems and low stress threshold/coping capacity
Neurotransmitter imbalance
Chronic infections, including bacteria, parasites, yeast & fungus, and viruses like EBV
Whether you're dealing with chronic conditions, seeking to optimize your health, or simply looking for a deeper understanding of your body’s functions, my lab interpretation service is designed to empower you with actionable insights and practical steps to improve your health. Together, we'll decode your lab results and create a clear path forward for your health journey.
Testing Options:
Comprehensive blood chemistry panels (routine labs, as well as more specialty markers for inflammation, copper and iron panel, EBV, immune markers)
Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA)
Organic Acids Test (OAT)
Food intolerance testing (blood)
DUTCH urinary hormone test
Urinary Mycotoxin testing
ERMI/EMMA Indoor Mold Testing
MicrobiologyDX nasal swab
Neurotransmitter testing
GI-MAP Stool test
24h Urinary Iodine test
EnviroTox Envrionmental Toxin Urine Panel (+ Glyphosate)
Vibrant America Lyme & Co-infections testing
Comprehensive Blood Chemistry Panels
Tailored to your individual needs. We assess various aspects including red blood cell characteristics, white blood cells and immune function, inflammation, thyroid, liver, and kidney health, lipids, electrolyte balance, iron metabolism, copper & zinc status, and more. Based on your biochemical individuality and budget, we have thousands of additional markers at our disposal.
HTMA (Hair Mineral Analysis)
A simple, non-invasive test that assesses nutritional elements, heavy metals, endocrine function, and more. The sample is taken from the first inch of hair closest to the scalp, this provide a ~3 month metabolic snapshot, whereas most blood and urine tests are looking at what is going on at that very moment. For this reason, we highly recommend pairing the HTMA with other tests for the most comprehensive data.
DUTCH Hormone Test
Using a dried urine sample to assess levels of sex hormones and their metabolites (more comprehensive than blood hormone testing), as well as stress hormone testing of 24-hour cortisol levels, cortisone, melatonin, neurotransmitters, and more
Organic Acids Test (OAT)
Urine test to assess 72 different markers related to protein, fat, and carb metabolism, yeast and fungus, bacterial metabolites, and more.
MycoTox Test
This test evaluates levels of mycotoxin excretion in urine. This is an important test if mold exposure is suspected. Mold can come from environmental exposures like water-damaged buildings or dietary exposures like commonly contaminated grains, dried fruits, etc. when improperly stored prior to packaging.
Vibrant Wellness Tickborne Pathogen Test
This is the gold standard in functional medicine when testing blood for suspected Lyme bacteria and associated co-infections like Bartonella, Babesia, and more
